Why is my crypto transaction 'unconfirmed'?

Modified on Mon, 01 Aug 2022 at 01:21 PM

Blockchain networks confirm transactions in “blocks” of data, and each blockchain network has slightly varying speeds. It may take about 10 minutes for an unconfirmed cryptocurrency transaction to be confirmed by the network, and most recipients, including CryptoWallet, require at least one confirmation before completing a transaction.

Times also vary based on the blockchain fee paid for the transaction. If you’ve sent a transaction from your CW wallet to the correct address and itm hasn’t arrived, you’ll need to wait. Sometimes networks become congested and things slow down, and in these rare cases, transactions could take a day or two to complete due to having a low or absent fee. If it’s taking too long, you can ask CryptoWallet support for recommendations on how to speed up the transaction.

Meta: Crypto transactions sometimes take longer when a network is congested, and/or when the transaction fee was too low. Read on for more info!
