What is a Ripple (XRP) destination tag?

A Ripple (XRP) destination tag is a unique 9-digit code used to identify the recipient of a Ripple transaction. When sending XRP from your Ripple account, you’ll need the recipient’s XRP destination tag as well as their wallet address. Equally, when receiving XRP to your Ripple (XRP) account, you may need to provide a Ripple destination tag as well as a wallet address, and this information will be provided by your CryptoWallet account.
